 OUR STORY

Barry H Bennett, curator of this site and owner of most of the items pictured, decided one day to re-create his (my) television service shop.  All of my equipment had been in storage, and was lost to a fire of epic proportions.  As you can see, this mission has clearly evolved past that simple goal.  This site, envisioned in 2017 and begun in August 2018 in it's infancy and evolving daily.

OUR MISSION, is to bring to the public, researchers, hobbiests, and the merely curious, a history lesson through photos, of the test equipment designed and used by the engineers and service shops of old, to maintain and design what was then the beginnings of our electronic future.

RESUME: I started my electronics career repairing radios and TV's while still in high school.  This transitioned into a successful business for many following years.  Sometime after that, I became chief engineer of Midwest Teleproductions, at the old Coliseum in Ohio, producing live professional sports feeds, taped concerts, etc. This was a broadcast facility with 8 cameras, 1", 2", and 3/4" tape, disk and tape slo mo, a film chain, etc.  Following that, I became a freelance Engineer In Charge for remote teleproduction companies, and then formed a company building large TV production trucks (As Bennett Systems Inc) which is still active today.

And now this  :)
